Vulnerable farmers in dry season: problems and approach for solutions

The drought that impacted Indonesia this year in 2023 due to El Nino phenomenon and had a profound effect on livestock farmers, presenting them with an array of challenges. Yet, amidst this adversity, these farmers showed incredible resilience and resourcefulness. In the Musuk District of Boyolali Regency, Central Java, farmers had to adapt rapidly to the changing conditions. They had to purchase water for both themselves and their livestock, and they had to find alternative sources of food for their cattle since the wet grass was no longer available. Despite these challenges, these farmers persevered and continued to tend to their livestock with the utmost care and dedication.
