Investigation activity of mite's infestation is performed as part of our activity. Mites' infestation in goat and sheep found are Scabies scabiei and non-burrowing mites. The diagnosis of infected goats and sheep are supported by the histologic findings of burrowing mites in different sizes as well as eggs in stratum corneum of the epidermis. It is known that infection and impairment of the host immune system to occur, S. scabiei must penetrate the skin and burrow to form a pathognomonic lesion. Their saliva has potent digestive enzymes that dissolve the skin tissues and facilitate to penetrate the deeper parts of the stratum corneum or the superficial layers. Hyperkeratosis and crust formations were also clearly observed in the animals, which is a typical sign of scabiosis lesion. Our scanning electron microscopy also found Chorioptes sp. in the sarcoptic lesion of the goat sample. Chorioptic mange was morphologically identified with large caruncles and short pedicel. Our activity show that zoonoses ectoparasites are also frequent in Central Java, Indonesia
